Introduced to our lineup in 2019, the Heron 34 provides a more affordable option for a quality 34 string lever harp without compromising on tone or playability. Like all Stewart harps, the Heron 34 has a depth of sound that has been described as warm, rich and balanced with a full and deep resonant bass. With a 4 3/4-octave range and fully levered the Heron 34 will provide you with years of enjoyment playing music.
Available in 2 versions, Heron 34 Standard made from Sapele Mahogany, and Heron 34 Special Edition made from Genuine Honduras Mahogany. Apart from the difference in woods used the harps are identical in all other aspects with the Honduras version having a slightly richer tone with a bit more sustain, and also around 1kg lighter in weight.
Player comfort is always an element of Stewart Harps. The soundbox is fully faceted with a stave on each side to allow comfort of playing against the shoulder with good access to the lower strings. The harp is well balanced and light-weight, coming in at just under 10kg for the standard version and under 9kg for the Special Edition version.
Both version of the Heron 34 are solid wood construction with a Finnish Birch laminate soundboard. The pillar and neck are internally reinforced with carbon fibre helping to maintain a stable and strong structure which helps contribute to a responsive and articulate tone. The Heron 34 is fully levered with Camac Semitone levers from France. Strung with Nylon strings in the upper and mid registers with 4 wrapped nylon-on-nylon strings in the lower mids complimented with 8 wires in the bass.
